| 1. We
believe that there is one and only one true God. That He is the
Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. That God is infinite
in holiness and all other perfections. That He is eternally existing in
three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit with distinct
personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
2. We believe that the Bible is God's written revelation to man and that it is verbally inspired and without error. It has God as its author, salvation for its end, and truth. That it reveals the principles by which God judges us; and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of the Christian life, and the only standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. 3. We believe that the Father is all powerful, all loving, always present, and all wise. That God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all men. 4. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, and the bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven. That He is now at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, partaking of the nature of God and of man, and in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man. That He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord. 5. We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of new birth in an unbeliever and indwells believers, enabling them to live a godly life. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. He calls men to the Savior, and effects regeneration. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. 6. We believe that man was created in the image of God, but because of sin, was alienated from God. That alienation can be removed only by accepting through faith alone God's free gift of salvation which was made possible only by Christ's death. 7. We bellieve that Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, sanctification and glorification. 8. We believe in the unity of believers. That Christians should be "stimulating one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking their own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day draw near" (Heb. 10:24&25). We understand that there will be differences in theology, and we respect the theology of others, and though they may not agree with us - we will not waiver from the above listed foundational beliefs. |
